This Colt .45-22 Conversion Unit Kit was sold to the Griffin & Howe Company in New York, New York on July 12th, 1939 in a single gun shipment.  It was shipped to the Abercrombie & Fitch Company in New York, New York. 

Note that this conversion unit has fixed sights where most conversion units were supplied with adjustable sights.  This Conversion unit was built for the Service Model Ace to allow it to be converted to a .45ACP Pistol.

This pistol was found with the following case which is similar to other cases that Abercrombie & Fitch were producing at the time.  It is inscribed on the front latch with "Frederick Wm. Kirby".  Included in the case was also the Service Model Ace SN: SM858 which can be found here.
