This Colt Delta Elite is a third year production pistol and was produced in Colt's raw stainless steel with the black rubber wrap around grips.
The Colt Delta Elite started production in 1987 and was considered the first 10mm firearm produced by a major manufacturer. Production would stop in 1996 due to slow sales. It would then regain production in 2008 in a next generation variation.
The 10MM Auto cartridge was first developed by Jeff Cooper and introduced in 1983 with the Bren Ten Pistol. In 1989 the FBI would would select the cartridge for service for a short period of time.
