This Colt 38 Super was shipped to the Marshall-Wells Company of Portland, Oregon on October 28th, 1946 in a 5 gun shipment.
This particular 38 Super is considered to be a pre-war / post-war example with the original maroon box. This traditionally refers to pistols that were built prior to the end of WWII but shipped after the war had ended. The grips at this point were no longer utilizing the 28 row checkered wood and were utilizing the Coltwood grips.
