This Colt Government Model was produced in 1947 and consists of pre-war and post war parts and components. By this time the majority of pre-war parts had been utilized already. We still see the war-time plastic Colt grips, grip safety, front sight, rear sight and hammer. By this time all the war-time slides had been used and Colt had switched to a single like address on the left hand side but was still using the pre-war roll mark for the right hand side of the slide.
This pistol was sold to the John Pritzlaff Hardware Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was shipped to Lehman Hardware Company of Cedarburg, Wisconsin on June 11th, 1947.
Accompanying this pistol is the original numbered box to this gun. Although all accessories and paperwork were lost along the way.
