This Colt Series 70 Government Model was produced in 1985. It has a blue finish, factory checkered walnut grips and is chambered in the 9mm Steyr. It was shipped to D.E.L. Supply at 58 Highland Avenue, Tewksbury, Massachusetts on January 9th, 1985 in a 25 gun shipment.
Prior to 1980 1,000 of these pistols were made for Italy and 100 of them were made for warranty purposes. When the warranty period expired these 100 reserved pistols were sold to the US market. This pistol is believed to be one of those 100 reserved based on the shipping date.
