This Colt Gold Cup National Match .38 Special Mid-Range was shipped to Robert M. Goodwan of Franklin, Massachusetts on March 27th, 1961 in a 2 gun shipment.  The finish is listed as Royal Blue, 5" barrel and chambered in .38 Special Mid-Range.

The barrel is marked on this pistol "COLT .38 SPEC. N.M." visible through the ejection port.  It is accompanied by it's original factory wood grain box, factory text target, NRA card, Instruction booklet and Colt 3 wing screwdriver. 

The Colt .38 Special Mid-Range Gold Cup National Match pistol was built as a highly accurate target pistol.  While on the outside it looks like a traditional National Match internally there are some modifications to utilize the flat nosed wadcutter ammunition that makes these pistols very unique.
