This Colt Series 70 Government Model was produced in 1983. It's finished in Blue with factory wood checkered grips. Based on the serial number, this is one of the last series 70 pistols that were produced before Colt migrated to the Series 80 platform.
In 1970 Colt introduced the Collet style barrel bushing along with the accursizer barrel. The concept was to get the accuracy of a custom shop pistol without the cost or time associated with custom fitting a standard barrel bushing.
