This Colt M1911 originally shipped to the Commanding Officer at Springfield Armory in Springfield, Massachusetts on August 17th, 1917 in a 500 gun shipment.
At some point in this pistols life, it was returned to Colt for repair or refinishing. It currently has a commercial slide and barrel as it was most likely repaired sometime post WWI based on the slide roll marks. There is a K on the right side trigger guard that indicates this work was done at Colt.
