This Colt Official Police Revolver was shipped July 24th, 1942 to the Central Maine Power Company in an 11 gun shipment. There have been other Colt's documented during the early days of WW2 that have shipped to Power Companies, Water Districts and other critical utilities. The thought was to arm local guards at these utilities in effort to prevent a possible attack.
This Colt Official Police Revolver features a 6" Heavy Barrel as seen by the special roll mark on the left side of the barrel. It's chambered in .38 Special with a 6 round capacity. The frame is blue and features colts walnut checkered grips with flush silver medallions.
