This Colt Police Positive Target was shipped to Schoverline, Daly and Gales in New York, New York on May 1st, 1908 in a single gun shipment.
The right side of the barrel is marked Police Positive while the left side of the barrel and frame is marked "New Police". The New Police Colt was manufactured from 1896-1907 when it was replaced by the Police Positive. This particular revolver is one of the transitional models.
