This Colt Government Model was shipped October 15th, 1924 to the Bob Smith Sporting Goods Company in Boston, Massachusetts in a single gun shipment. The factory letter notes it was manufactured on October 14th, 1924.
The upper right side trigger guard is marked with a "K" indicating a factory refinish or repair. The 1/10 inch front sight and rear fixed sight on this pistol are from a later period and are not what was used on the standard government models of when this pistol was produced. This pistol at some point in it's life was sent back to the factory to have the new, more modern sights installed.
